Randy Thompson grew up in Sayre and was the school’s homecoming queen her senior year. She attended Sayre Community College (now Southwestern Oklahoma State University), and then began her career as a court reporter, first with the local district attorney, then for judge John Maley in Okmulgee. “They told me I was going to do this,” Thompson said, laughing. “I was shocked, to say the least.
