The charges against Roberts stem from an investigation launched on Jan. 30, 2015, where Howard County Sheriff Steve Rogers, Detective Greg Hargrove, Judge William Menges, and Auditor Martha Lake met at the auditor’s office in regards to the suspicion that a court reporter was making overpayments to herself for trial court transcriptions.
