Swearingen came home on a troop train on which she was the only woman.Scott came home on a stretcher with three Purple Hearts. What the two have in common, though, is their service to their country, and their willingness to sit down with an interviewer, a court reporter and their memories, good and bad, to preserve them for future generations.
